We are happy to confirm your reservation at Chateau Borgeat de Lagrange ! We would first like to express our gratitude for choosing to stay at Chateau Borgeat de Lagrange as you are directly contributing to the preservation of this historical property.

Please find below some further information to help you organise your stay.

THE CASTLE

For your information, we live on the property so we will be at your disposal if needed but you will be independent and will have private access to the castle and parc. We accept up to 20 people on the property, guests who do not have accommodation in the chateau are not allowed on the property.

You will have full access to the following areas:

– 10 renovated rooms, each with their own bathroom (the beds will be made; towels, soap, shampoo and hair dryer at your disposal)

– dining room and living rooms with bluetooth speakers

– equipped kitchen (crockery for 20, wine glasses, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, tea towels, garbage bags, washing up liquid, etc.)

– cellar with foosball table, video projector with Apple TV

– the wooded parc with garden furniture, swimming pool (which is not heated) and barbecue (wood available free of charge).

There are 2 coffee machines : one filter coffee pot with ground coffee and one espresso machine with Senseo coffee bags.

TRANSPORT

The easiest is to arrive to Bordeaux airport or train station, then rent vans. We are 1 hour away from both places. Uber is not available in the countryside and taxis are difficult to find, which is why it is easier to drive your own car.

If you do not wish to drive, taxis will be able to drive you between Bordeaux and Blaye for about 180€/van (8seats) or 120€/taxi (4 seats).

Supermarkets :

– Aldi in the closest, 1km away

– Lidl (5min drive)

-Carrefour delivery https://www.carrefour.fr (select Bourg sur Gironde) You will need a French phone number for this, feel free to contact us if you need help creating an account.

– E.Leclerc which you can order online, if you can understand French, and pickup the groceries (no delivery) https://www.leclercdrive.fr (select Blaye location)

Blaye farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. (They do not serve food there, only for buying fresh produce such as vegetables, meat, seafood and local oysters)

WINE

We have our own vineyard and wine brand which you can discover and taste during your stay.

We offer the following wine tourism activities (8 people minimum):

– A tasting course to learn how to analyze and describe a wine in a professional way. We do this by comparing 4 wines from our family brand Maison Borgeat. 1 hour and 10€/person.

– An explanatory walk in our vineyards on the edge of the Gironde estuary to learn about the cycle of the vine, the importance of the terroir and its influence on wine. The walk is followed by a tasting at the château. 1 hour and 10€/person.

– Both: the walk and an in-depth course. 2 hours and 18€/person
